Bochum & Bern, 18 November 2025 – A pioneering step in Germany: we’re now delivering groceries autonomously on the streets of Bochum. In collaboration with REWE, one of Europe’s largest e-retailers, and Bochum Wirtschaftsentwicklung, our autonomous VW ID.Buzz is navigating real delivery routes. This marks the first real-life deployment of a Level 4 autonomous vehicle for grocery delivery in Germany, setting a new benchmark for urban logistics.
Over the next six months, we’ll showcase how fully automated home delivery works in everyday city life. This pilot is about more than technology—it proves that autonomous urban logistics can be safe, scalable, and seamlessly integrated into existing delivery services.
We’re proud to lead the way in European autonomous logistics, building on our successes in Switzerland and now scaling up in Germany. We can do it in Switzerland, we can do it in Germany—and we will do it across Europe. Our mission is simple: automatize urban goods delivery with a technology developed in Europe, for Europe.
