On September 19, 2024, LOXO and Planzer launch Planzer – Dynamic Micro-Hub w LOXO, a groundbreaking pilot project in Bern aimed at transforming last-mile delivery through autonomous technology. This collaboration merges Planzer’s logistics expertise with LOXO’s autonomous driving innovation, addressing the growing demand for sustainable and efficient urban logistics.
At the heart of the project is Mathilde, an autonomous vehicle equipped with LOXO’s Digital Driver™ software, navigating Bern’s streets without a human driver. Over a two-year pilot, Mathilde will run multiple daily routes, delivering packages to 14 strategically located micro-hubs across a 67-kilometer network. From these hubs, packages will be transferred to smaller electric vehicles for final delivery.
This project not only reduces emissions but also sets the stage for scalable, data-driven logistics. If successful, Planzer and LOXO plan to expand the project to other cities, reinforcing the future of sustainable urban mobility.
With new regulations on automated driving expected in 2025, LOXO’s technology is poised to be a standard in last-mile delivery. As CEO Amin Amini states, “This partnership will redefine logistics and make our technology the go-to solution for efficient, autonomous urban deliveries.”
